Finally home

Three standbys later we finally find our names on the cleared list and with boarding passes in hand we board a flight to Jacksonville at 11:30pm. We were lucky! Thirty people had been "standing by" to get on this flight. In fact the gate agent put too many people on the flight and one had to deplane before we could take off.

Forty-seven minutes later we touch down in Jacksonville and are greeted by Melissa's dad to take us back home to Georgia. We were a bit worried about our luggage but luckily it had arrived before us and was patiently waiting to be picked up.

Two o'clock am this weary traveler fell into bed for a blissful night's sleep. Awaking this morning in my own room at first was a bit disorienting but a wonderful feeling. No matter how great a vacation is..."there's no place like home."

Until my next adventure....
